Clara The Impossible Girl WIP

Another quick work in progress shot, this time a lunch break doodle (I hope to get many of these done over the summer, especially once I get Supervisor at work and have an extra hour of ‘lets draw in the basement’ time!)

I decided to stick with the Doctor Who vibe, giving the new companion a try. I’m really enjoying her character, and drawing her! Honestly I want to keep going with this; add a background maybe? Or a fancy outfit!? Shit son, I need more sketchbook space…

I need to fix the lips before I post a final though, ha ha XD I find her signature smirk very attractive, so I wanted to add it to my sketch, but it’s also annoyingly unique!! It’s hard to get right, but I’ll try my best!

“The World’s Most Unusual Museums”

Here we have an old editorial project I did for Media Studio. I’ve got to post all my good homework now that school is over and done with!

Hooray for discovering my color palette… and textures XD

My progress so far, after a successful night of Roomie Doodles with the lovely Kian-sama.

So I saw this photo of River and Amy and wanted to sketch out my own version for some reason :P I should have the dresses inked in soon, then it’s off to Photoshop to get those tweaks made! (I so fucked up River’s jawbone because I didn’t have my good pens…hopefully I get their faces right in the end!)

Stay tuned!

ALICE & THE MAD HATTER REDESIGNEDCharacter Design

So, I posted my Alice in Wonderland scene a while back (October, yikes!) & said I’d get around to posting the actual character designs. Well, since I’m getting back on the ball here, I may as well get that done tonight.

So everyone, meet Alice, who when tiny can be found equipped with her highlighter pink cocktail pick sword and matchstick fire arrows. Oh, and don’t forget the Mad Hatter, with his neon green skin, cane of time and hat of mysterious stains.

THE DAENERYS THAT ONCE WAS

So, I haven’t posted here on my art blog since the beginning of the year… I know that’s a bad thing, but I’ve just been so busy!! Now that my schooling is FINALLY coming to an end, I hope I’ll take the chance to dive head first into this online social media thing. This is just a quick reminder that I’m still alive and drawing, just nothing fun lately, thus the lack of posts.

This picture is a bit symbolic, as this piece is one I started last summer, and still hangs unfinished on my wall today. I got thiiiiiiis close to being done, then changed my mind about the design’s purpose, essentially painting over the whole thing! It is now a depressing, faceless blob that just hangs there, reminding me of my failures as it gazes eyelessly into my artistic soul D:

So, this post is to remind me that art rarely ends up perfect, and rather than waste time fiddling over it & never showing off my work, I should just start posting EVERYTHING I DO!!! From the sketchbook doodles to the concepts I’ve scrapped, the best way to learn is to share and discuss! Time to make some tumblr art pals it seems!

Well kids, that’s all the time we have for today here on ‘Lets Be Art Buddies’, come back next week when classes are a bit less bitchy and all up in my grill, and maybe we’ll have a nice picture or two to show ya :D HAPPY EASTER YOU WONDERFUL BUNCH

Thesis 2: the early stages

IT’S THESIS TIME KIDSThesis Duh

All I can really say about thesis at this point is “ow, oh god fuck, the hand cramps are not cool” D’: I know I should have just done the work sooner, but bloody hell, if I can’t pull 9 sketches out of my ass in 4 days I don’t deserve to call myself an illustrator.

This is a super shitty shot of one of the pieces I was working on today. Got about 2-and-a-half/3 done today, on a decent roll. I’ll upload them tomorrow to show my progress.

I CAN FUCKING DO THIS!!! GRAHHH!!! 4TH YEAR BITCHES!

TINGOIllustration 4

In the Pascuense language of Easter Island, ‘tingo’ means:

“to take all the objects one desires from the house of a friend, one at a time, by asking to borrow them”

PAINT THE TOWN REDGraphic Novel Illustration

I know I haven’t updated in a while, but here’s something new! This was a 3-page color comic project on whatever the hell we wanted. So, since I’m me, obviously I decided to do a weird depressing serial killer offing a prostitute. When I get it to class I get hit with the feminist card, mainly for the last panel. Arguments on how it’s too revealing and objectifying a pose and how if she is faceless I’m making the victim too detached. I explained I was portraying the comic through the son’s point of view, so it’s just seeing the women as he does. Oh well, I stand by my decisions.

fuck the police! I’ll draw titties and creepy murders if I wanna…
